Weddingbells: Up Close & Personal

We’re thrilled to have more of our calligraphy featured in the latest issue of Weddingbells magazine. For this feature, Roseanne, from the magazine, had interviewed the editors on their favourite things and then showcased how they can be transformed into unforgettable wedding ideas. The editor-in-chief, Alison’s, favourite things are The Dead Poets Society movie and wallpaper. So we decided to include a calligraphy poem of Lord Byron’s “She Walks in Beauty”. Our calligraphy can be found on page 24 of the Fall & Winter 2010 edition of Weddingbells.

Weddingbells: Northern Reflection

Back in the winter, Weddingbells magazine contacted me to participate in a Canadian Chic spread for their Fall + Winter 2010 issue. Of course, I was beyond excited to contribute the stationery pieces. A huge thanks to Weddingbells for including me in the spread. The magazine is now on newstands.

Featured on Weddingbee

This past week our rubber address stamps were once again featured on Weddingbee. Miss Starfish had purchased one of our stamps and had this to say about it:

“My favorite purchase of all was a Barbara Kua address stamp, which we will be using for our invitation RSVP envelopes, invitation return addresses, return addresses on our shower invites and all personal mail I send in the future!”

I can’t wait to see how her invitations turn out!

Miss Starfish had heard about our stamp after reading Miss Sunrise’s Stamp My Little Heart Out! post a month ago.

I love how crafty many of the bloggers are on Weddingbee. They tend to also be big supporters of handwritten calligraphy. I’ve even seen many Bees opt to do their own calligraphy for their weddings which I think is great!

Happy 25th Weddingbells Magazine

Last Thursday, my friends over at Weddingbells Magazine celebrated their 25th anniversary with a fantastic party at the Windsor Arms Hotel in Toronto. 25 years.. wow.. a huge milestone! I had the honor of creating signs for their candy bar and thank you tags for their giveaways. 400 tags were penned, in the Penelope Style, for each guest and tied around cute vases with posies supplied by Flour Studio. Unfortunately I got to the candy bar a tad too late so I was only able to grab a beautiful box of goodies from Churchill’s Fine Gourmet Gifts. But still, it was yummy enough to satisfy my sweet tooth.

You can check out pictures and a video from the event on the Weddingbells site: http://www.weddingbells.ca/25years/. Congratulations Weddingbells and thank you for having us be a part of your event.

Bee & Patrick: embossing fun

A while back I heard from one of my lovely customers, Bee, from Minnesota. She had purchased one of our rubber stamps for her Save The Dates and embossed the address on her envelopes.

Embossing is another great way to use our calligraphy stamps. You can read the entire post about her stamp and learn more about how she did the embossing here.

By the way, how cute are her Save the Dates?

Weddingbells: Fonts of Fun

What does your stationery font say about you?  Check out this article from Weddingbells to find out.  Weddingbells recently approached me for input on how different types of fonts relate to different personalities.  Seeing as how I love typography, I jumped at the chance!
